Iowa Supreme Court Cites GLJ Note in Landmark Same-Sex Marriage Decision

A student note recently published in the Georgetown Law Journal was cited extensively in the Iowa Supreme Court's decision requiring the state to recognize same-sex marriages. The Note, Gods and Gays: Analyzing the Same-Sex Marriage Debate from a Religious Perspective, 96 Geo. L.J. 2103 (2008), was written by Ben Schuman '08, and appeared in issue 96.6, which was published in August 2008. It can be read here. Schuman served as an Executive Editor for volume 96.
The court cited Schuman's note five times in its 69-page opinion in Varnum v. Brien.
